'Mambo Italiano' was the soundtrack, and molto italiano the collection was. The two designers took the collection to the picturesque Italian countryside on a summer's day, with wicker baskets and vegetable-printed outfits. With a definite '50s feel, bra-tops paired with little bouncy shorts or voluptuous skirts, all of them high-waisted to emphasise the womanly figure.
The collection moved on to eveningwear next, bringing forth a femme fatal. Black lace made of intricate flowers hugged the models as they slunk down the catwalk. Dresses bedecked in colorful jewels bordered on kitsch but spoke of the fun of Milan. Even transparent macs were dappled with jewels and fringed with lace. The show spoke of Italian glamour but was painted with high spirits.
