Trouble in Paradis

After 14 years together, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have confirmed their split.

The couple – whose relationship has been rumoured to be in trouble for several months – have confirmed they have ”amicably” parted ways and appealed for privacy for the sake of their two children, Lily-Rose, 13, and 10-year-old Jack.

A statement from their representatives read: ”Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have amicably separated. Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children.”

News of the split comes just a month after it was claimed the couple – who have not appeared in public together for over a year – were ”working on” getting their relationship back on track. A source said recently: ”For the first time in a long time, he is talking about her. They both want to make it work.” And the ‘Dark Shadows’ star recently blasted untrue speculation about his relationship being over. He said: ”The rumours are not true. They are absolutely not true. No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite. I can’t say enough about it not being over.”
