The star of Hollywood in My Huis, Leandie du Randt, shares some of her book loves!
GLAMOUR: What are you reading right now?
Leandie: Fascinating Womanhood by Helen B. Andelin. This book teaches you how to unlock your man’s true love and be in a fun, loving and trusting relationship. It also teaches you how men think.
GLAMOUR: Have you ever been given a really wonderful book as a gift?
Leandie: My dad gave me The 7 Habits of highly effective Teenagers by Sean Covey when I was in grade nine. That was my first self-help book and it made me fall in love with books likes these as it really helped me through my teenage years. Ever since I’ve been hooked on self-help books.
GLAMOUR: Where is your favourite place to read?
Leandie: In bed or at a coffee shop, usually at a Mugg & Bean – I love their iced coffees. I also like reading books in the bath from time to time.
GLAMOUR: Do you judge books by their covers?
Leandie: Initially a cover draws my attention, but the blurb on the back is what encourages me to buy or put down. I like colourful books with catchy strap lines too. A great cover and a cool strap line often make me pick up a book, but the blurb is the deciding factor.
GLAMOUR: Locally and internationally, who are your favourite authors right now?
Leandie: Robin Sharma, Rhonda Byrne and Paulo Coelho.
GLAMOUR: Do you prefer an E-reader or a hard copy?
Leandie: Hard copy. I love highlighting things that I want to remember and I love a book that looks used with sides that are folded over and hardened paper and even a few water marks!
