5 Tips for getting red carpet ready

With all its prestigious events and fashion shows, the month of April has been a busy one! Magazines, blogs and social media platforms are jam packed with gorgeous photos of celebrities and media personalities donning the best of the best on the red carpet.

Kriya Gangiah has spent plenty of time in the spotlight this month, but has always managed to look glamorous! She shares her five top tips for getting red carpet ready so that you too can look fabulous at any event you attend.

1 Face time

We all want to look beautiful and have glowing skin, right? The food that we eat, especially before a big event, can have a major impact on how our skin looks and feels. In the days leading up to your function, stay away from oily, fatty foods and drink extra water. You definitely don’t want to share the spotlight with a last minute zit!

2 Make sure you nail it

Having perfect nails really does finish off a look. Before your event, book an appointment at a salon to get your hands and feet pampered. And while you’re at it – make sure your nail colour and design compliment your outfit for a look that’s glamorous from head to toe.

3 Makeup is an art

Makeup is crucial to your outfit. It has the power to make or break your look. If makeup isn’t your strong point, it’s really worth hiring a makeup artist who can help you achieve the look you’re going for. Alternatively, you could recruit the help of a friend (hey, that’s what they’re here for!) or find a tutorial for a look you like online and practice it beforehand.

4 It’s getting hot in here!

With all the lights, camera flashes and excitement it can get quite hot on the red carpet or at a party. Make sure that you are well deodorised and have a small bottle of perfume stashed in your handbag to keep you smelling sweet all night long. And if you’re wearing a black dress – beware the sweat marks!

5 Get a second opinion

It’s always a good idea to get a second opinion on your outfit. Once you’re all dolled up, ask an honest friend to tell you what they think of your outfit. Sometimes they can spot something you may have forgotten like earrings or a bracelet.

Remember to walk with confidence – it’s the sexiest attribute a woman can have. If you feel good, you’ll look good.
