3 Must-see acts at the 18th Cape Town Jazz Fest

The annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival is here, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the stellar line-up of local and international artists!

Today (29 March), the pre-festival Free Community Concert will take place in the heart of the city at Green Market Square, with En Vogue (USA), Mango Groove (SA) and Moreira Chonguica (MOZ) taking to the stage from 5pm.

This year’s festival promises to be the biggest and the best to date. And whether you’re an avid jazz fan or not, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Here are three world class performers we’re dying to see live:

Judith Sephuma (SA)

This award-winning local Afro-funk, jazz and gospel singer needs no introduction – her illustrious career spans over ten years! All we pray for is to get there early, so we can experience her beautiful voice up front and centre.

Laura Mvula (UK)

This phenomenal British singer and two-time MOBO award winner is pure gold! Mvula’s songs explore identity, personal dilemmas and social issues, and are filled with soul.

The Internet (USA)

Los Angeles-based hip hop, neo-soul and R&B group The Internet will be jazzing up the city with infectious sounds from their Grammy-nominated album,  Ego Death. We can’t wait to hear the lush vocals of frontwoman Syd Tha Kyd.
