You’ve got to give it to Raf Simons: The designer has never been one to stick to what’s expected. For the latest instalment of his family-themed Calvin Klein Jeans campaign, he went with a different interpretation of Americana — one that’s more contemporary and pop-culture-driven — by showing the Kardashian-Jenner sisters all decked in their Calvins. (Kalvins? Sorry.) And unlike the family Christmas card, this time, they’re all there — yes, including Kylie.

Once again photographed by Willy Vanderperre in what appears to be a barn, the Calvin Klein Jeans spring 2018 campaign spotlights family, both actual and chosen. We saw Solange Knowles with her collaborators and muses in music, the A$AP Mob, and models Kaia and Presley Gerber. The Kardashians may be one of the most famous families in the country, but they’re not the type of celebrity we associate with Simons’ Calvin Klein. (That honour has been bestowed upon the likes of Millie Bobby Brown, Ashton Sanders, and Julianne Moore.) But that’s changing this season, with Kim Kardashian West, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner posing in “a secret location in Los Angeles,” wearing Calvin Klein denim and skivvies.
Outside of the fashion industry, the ad provides fodder for those who have been closely following the saga that has been Kylie’s sudden reclusion from the public eye, as rumours that she’s expecting her first child have intensified. These images will likely only contribute to that speculation, seeing as every time the youngest Jenner is pictured, she’s covering up her stomach, either with a blanket or by posing behind one of her sisters.

Meanwhile, Khloé, who recently when public with her long-speculated pregnancy, told Vogue she was already expecting when the Calvin Klein campaign was shot, and didn’t appear to be hiding her belly in the final images. (As we know, though, Calvin Klein underwear would go on to play quite the crucial role in her official pregnancy announcement.)
“The bond we share is infectious,” Khloé told Vogue of shooting the campaign with her family. “Even though we pick on each other like normal siblings, we are each other’s biggest supporters…. I want people to see unity, loyalty, and strength. We’re a mix of everything, and I think family is the ultimate American dream.”
