Chrissy Teigen’s tweets about ‘Jesus Christ Superstar!’ are even better than the show

The first thought I had when news broke John Legend was playing the titular role in NBC’s live version of  Jesus Christ Superstar! was Wow, Chrissy Teigen’s Twitter is going to be absolute fire that night. The  Cravings author is a pro at trolling her husband, after all. She hilariously puts the singer on blast for the most minor things, so you know she was going to have some amazing things to say about him literally playing Jesus Christ in a musical.

And Teigen didn’t disappoint. She started tweeting just minutes after the show began. “HE HAS RISEN aaaaahahahahhahahahahahahahah,” she wrote, before joking that one of the actors onstage looked like right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos. “One guy looks EXACTLY like milo yiannopoulos. Try to spot him. #findmilo,” she wrote.

Of course, she delivered some relatable content too, like this tweet about not really knowing what the hell was going on during the show.

I have no idea what’s going on I’m assuming these people are bad because coats

And this one about some of the male characters’ deep V-neck outfits. (Seriously, why were there so many V-necks? Did Jesus wear that many V-necks IRL? I need answers!)

I have a feeling whoever has the deepest V will be crucified

THE V’S. THEY ARE A’DEEPENING

My favourite tweet, though, was this one about a rehearsal Teigen regretted taking her daughter Luna to. Just imagine Teigen walking into the theatre, seeing this specific rehearsal and thinking to herself, Um, nope. Time to go.

Oh shit the lepers that was the rehearsal I brought Luna to. That was a mistake

Her tweets weren’t all jesting, though. It’s clear she loved the show and was super proud of Legend, Sara Bareilles, and the rest of the cast. “Sara’s voice is so pure. She makes singing seem so easy,” she wrote midway through the show.

But because it’s Chrissy Teigen, her tweeting spree ended with some hater clap-backs. “The reviews are in!!! The people love it!!!!” she replied to a Twitter user bashing the show.

She also had this scathing response to Bill O’Reilly, who tweeted, “Watching JC Superstar on NBC. Who knew Jesus of Nazareth ran a tattoo parlor?”:

Yes the shop specializes in coverups that aren’t 32 million dollars https://t.co/2hklA6Ix4P

That response alone deserves a standing ovation.
