Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s car broke down, and the video is just something else…

There are a few sights you just have to see in your life: the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the Great Wall of China, and… Justin Bieber directing traffic after his car broke down while on a date with Hailey Baldwin in the Hamptons. Sure, you laugh now, but this video will one day hang in the Louvre alongside the Mona Lisa. It’s a culturally and spiritually significant experience that I’m happy to bring to you on this hot-as-hell Tuesday.

OK, so here’s the backstory: Baldwin and Bieber have recently rekindled some sort of flame. Whether or not they’re officially dating is still unknown, but the two of them are certainly doing couple-y things, like making out in parks and going to movies as hundreds of fans watch with bated breath.

A few of those fans were in the Hamptons this weekend, where Baldwin and Bieber were living their maybe-couple lives. Unfortunately, though, things went a bit awry on Sunday. It appears the car they were driving broke down in the middle of a Hamptons road yesterday, leaving them temporarily stranded. So, naturally, Bieber’s first inclination was to get out of the car and direct traffic as he and Baldwin waited for the police to arrive.

Let’s just think about this for a second. Imagine if you were driving along, maybe listening to Justin Bieber’s Under the Mistletoe album — and then you pass him on the road directing traffic like he’s a normal person and not someone who once did a song with Sean Kingston. “It’s me. Justin Bieber,” he might say under his breath as he directs you to drive slowly. “Yes, it’s actually me. No, I won’t sing the bridge of ‘Beauty and a Beat’ for you.”

People reports that police eventually showed up to relieve Bieber of his traffic guard duties, and mechanics helped bring the car back to life. Fingers crossed they sang a little “One Less Lonely Girl” as they worked on the ride.
