Easy Freak– Good Times

undefined

Hailing from the seaside city of Durban, electronic duo Easy Freak are changing the music game one groovy track at a time. The brains behind the music Dom Hurd and Jude Kenrick have recently made the move to the City of Gold to concentrate on their music and it’s clearly working. In May they released their latest single ‘Good Times’ and it’s the perfect song to get you in the weekend mood. The guys have been hinting at releasing new music and if this is just a taste of what we can expect we are excited to see what else they have to offer. Oh, and did we mention they’re not too bad on the eyes either.

Sho Madjozi– Huku

undefined

The Xitsonga princess, poet and musician, Sho Madjozi is making waves in the gqom music scene. The Limpopo raised rapper is not only talented but we’re also kinda obsessed with her style. Fusing the two together makes her a force to be reckoned with. And her latest release ‘Huku’ is the perfect representation of that. It’s a festival of colour, dance, fashion and free-spirited young people living their best lives. We dare you to try and sit still while listening to this track.

Majozi– Waiting

undefined

Another Durban-born boy (is there something in the water?), Majozi is known for his smooth, soulful vocals and lyrics that make you believe that true love really exists. Not only is he talented but he is oh-so-humble about his success, crediting friends and fellow bands such as Gangs of Ballet for their support, but revels in being able to defy people’s expectations.

After writing this song two years ago, he has finally released his new single titled  ‘Waiting’ which sees him experiment with a variety of pop and dance sounds influenced by Daft Punk. If you’re planning a road trip this weekend, then this is the perfect song to add to your playlist!

Fifi Cooper– Take Me Back

undefined

A lot of her fans thought Fifi Cooper’s fall out with Ambitiouz Records could mean the end of her music career. But like a phoenix, she rose from the ashes with her hit ‘Take Me Back.’ The track is an ear candy hip-hop track produced by Nigerian record producer, Wilson Okafor. If you’re looking for a chilled out hip-hop tune to ease you into the weekend then look no further.

Kyle Watson– You Boy (Ft. Kylah Jasmine)

undefined

Kyle Watson is easily one of the most successful DJ/producers to come out of South Africa. Not only does he churn out the club bangers but he has also travelled the world sharing his music with an international audience. His latest track ‘You Boy’ featuring the talented Kylah Jasmine has those epic bass drops he is known for and this is the one track that will get the whole club jumping. Pre-game anthem anyone?
