Magic eyes and dreamy skin

Cloud 9 inspired eyes are not the same without the finish of a silky, smooth and flawless foundation.

Wondering how to ensure that you’ve picked the right foundation for your skin? @nuzhahjacobs shares all you need to know and why Rimmel of London SA is sure to help you along the way.

GLAMOUR: What are the eyeshadow trends for this season?

Nuzhah Jacobs: Expressive Eyes - colourful liners, different lashes, textured eyeshadows, bold colours, 60’s-90s eye makeup trends (nostalgic eye looks).

Some of my favourite products to create these looks: Rimmel of London’s Wonder'Swipe 2-in-1 Liner to Shadow, and Magnif'eyes Eye Contouring Palette Crimson Edition

G: What do you look for when choosing mascara?

N: I look for a mascara that has a good wand applicator, one that is able to coat my top and bottom lashes with minimal mess/smudging. I also look for a mascara that can lift and curl my lash.

G: Best mascara tip?

N: Use a lash curler before applying your mascara and start applying from the root to the tip and avoid applying too many coats, otherwise you’ll end up clumpy and spider looking legs for lashes.

I adore: Rimmel of London Glam'eyes Day 2 Night Mascara

G: PLEASE tell us how we can achieve the perfect wing?

N: I’ve found that the easiest liner to use for a beginner is a felt tip liquid liner. After years of practise I can create my liner very easily but if you’re new to makeup, I advise using tape to position where you’d like your liner to be and then draw it on. Another way would be to create your cat eye flick by making tiny dots of where you’d like your liner to be placed (make sure that both are symmetrical before connecting the dots) and then draw your liner.

What I suggest: Rimmel of London Wonder’ink eyeliner.

G: A beginners guide to apply eye shadow?

N: Start with two or three shades maximum so that you don’t get overwhelmed. The shades I advise you use are shades in a similar palette. So if you’re using browns, have a light brown, dark brown etc.

For absolute beginners, I would suggest using the lighter shade all over the eye and then deepen the eyeshadow on the outer corners of the eye by applying the darker shade. Make sure to blend so that there isn’t any harsh lines. It’s easier to follow a tutorial so if you’re still struggling, check out my YouTube or my videos on Instagram.

A palette to always keep on hand: Rimmel of London Magnif’Eyes Mini Power Palette ‘Sassy’

G: How does experimenting with different eye looks help affect your mood?

N: I’m always extra happy when I’m painting my face and the eyes are my favourite part to get creative with because it’s so versatile.

G: An easy pick-me-up eye look anyone can create on their own?

N: Colourful eyeshadow or colourful liner. One bright colour is easy enough to apply and bold enough to be a look on its own. I always advise others to play around with colour on your eyes.

I highly recommend: Rimmel of London Magnif'eyes Eyeshadow Palette Jewel Rocks & Crimson and Rimmel of London Wonder'Swipe 2-in-1 Liner to Shadow

G: Your best tip on achieving a cakeless foundation finish?

N: I apply a thin layer of (translucent) powder or set my foundation with spray (or apply both).

Try these: Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder Transparent and Rimmel Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray

G: When it comes to eye shadow … Are you a matte or more of a shimmer type of girl?

N: Depends on my mood to be honest, I love both but if I have to choose - matte.
