
One of our favourite trends this season is colour blocking.
With everything we are all dealing with in the world today we can definitely do with some colour to brighten up our lives. This is the perfect time to experiment with an array of colour combinations - perhaps a tad unfamiliar or bolder than you're used to. Why not test your own boundaries when it comes to colour?
What exactly is Colour-Blocking? We've heard this term being thrown around for years, but essentially, colour blocking in fashion is when you wear a combination of different buy solid coloured items. Similarly, you could also colour block by wearing one dress that consists of different solid coloured panels.
The A/W 20 runway shows had a whole host of designers embracing this trend. Gucci, Lacoste, Gauchere and Balenciaga just to name a few all showcased a variety of looks for us to draw inspiration from.

If you’re still hesitant, start with accessories and build your way up slowly.
Keep in mind that natural tones are colours too, as are black and white. Therefore colour blocking doesn't always have to be done with bright tones.
On another note, Colour blocking isn't only reserved for bold garments. You can test drive this trend with bags and shoes or even nails and make-up.

When it comes to understanding which colours work well together, we say there are no rules. It's always a good idea to be inspired by something whether it's in nature or something in your house or a look off the runway - colour blocking and colour combinations are all around us!
