Get ready for an exciting and (super spicy) new season of ‘The Bachelor SA’ on M-Net's channel 101 on 13 February at 7pm. Fans are in for some heady highs, pure drama and comedy—as 36-year old Marc Buckner from Cape Town, tries to find love on the hit reality show.
Twenty-two gorgeous contestants including radio personality Nolo Moloi, model and UCT Masters Student, Qiniso van Damme (Phumzile van Damme's sister)—will be vying for the last rose to the Bachelor’s heart.
The super charming Bachelor is a 'green' brother, (Eco-friendly, runs, loves dogs) and has been on every continent except for South America. He shares a bit on his idea of the perfect date, lessons learnt from previous relationships, and much more.
Without sounding narcissistic, I think my best attribute is…That I like change and I’m always open to change. That’s what makes people grow and it also helps when you’re constantly travelling. I don’t like routine; I like to get to a new place, do and discover new things.
The first thing I notice in a woman I’m interested in is…the confidence she exudes when she is walking. And sometimes it’s quite nice when she is a bit shy as well, because you don’t want to date someone that is arrogant and full of themselves. Finally, it’s the smile and eyes. But a smile shows character and how interested is that person.
There a few on the show but my idea of a perfect date… always involves food. There has to be food, great conversation, and doing something that you both enjoy. Hopefully it’s getting outside and not just the typical restaurant scenario—anything outside of the norm. I once took someone overseas with me because I had a last-minute shoot in Germany. We decided I’ll do the job quickly, and from there we went straight to Florence and Venice. We had an amazing time exploring the famous canals while enjoying some wine on the gondolas.
The one thing I regret most in past relationships... is not being a good communicator as I should have been. I have learnt and try now more than ever to see the situation from the other persons perspective.
Next up on my travel bucket list...is Bolivia. I would love to experience the salt pans, the people, the vibe, the food, everything.
The second season of ‘The Bachelor SA’ premiers on M-net at 7pm on Dstv’s channel 101.
