If there is anything How Do I Look SA has taught us, it's how to avoid making fashion mistakes. So we decided to share the common beauty faux pas we've seen when it comes to applying blush.
Applying a cream blush over powder
If you mix the wrong textures it could ruin your entire look, and there’s nothing worse than having to start all over again. It’s extremely important to remember if you have already applied a finishing powder to your face, not to add a cream blush on top of it. The reason for this is that the cream will mix with the powder, leaving an uneven texture on your skin. So always remember to apply the same textures together so if you're using a cream blush you can apply it over your cream foundation. If you choose to use a powder blush, this can be applied over a powder finish.
Applying it in the wrong area
Contrary to popular belief, it really does matter where on your face you apply blush. According to the experts, you should start just next to your ear and, with light strokes, sweep towards the apples of your cheeks. Applying blush below the cheekbone can make you appear much older- and not in a good way (if that even exists). The end look should result in a natural-looking flush.
Forgetting about it altogether
You don’t want to be walking around looking like you’ve just seen a ghost, or worse, looking like an actual ghost. So it’s important to always apply even just a touch of blush to liven up your cheeks for a rosy looking complexion.
