Nicki Minaj stars in H&M’s Christmas advert (& fans don’t recognise her in her new role)

Today has been a very exciting day for Christmas lovers because H&M has released a teaser of its Christmas campaign.

Fresh off some epic collaborations with  BalmainKenzo and more recently  Erdem, the high street clothing retailer has now teamed up with  Nicki Minaj. The singer/rapper stars alongside  Grey Anatomy’s hunk Jesse Williams and  The Night Of’s John Turturro in the short film which depicts according to H&M “a parallel fantasy world filled with memorable characters and a universal message of caring for one another”.”

While we don’t know much about the plot of the entire film, it appears that Nicki and Jesse play mother and father of the little girl in which the plot centres and are definitely sporting the clothes to match. Nicki has ditched her usual figure-hugging ensembles and opted for a more casual turtleneck jumper (and we can all agree she still looks insane).

But teasers suggest we can expect a typical Nicki Minaj look in the full film as she plays the dual role as Wisest Thingy, a fabulous fairy in which she wears a long flowing white number with sequins.

Nicki expressed her excitement at working with Williams in a tweet, explaining: “Honored to act along side @iJesseWilliams in this new @hm commercial. Super fun & easy going on set. He set the tone & I just followed his lead. He made “acting” look so easy. Can’t wait for you guys to see the full thing 😛 Happy Holidays from P R A G U E ♥️🎈”
