Prince Charles has a nickname for Meghan Markle and it has a super interesting backstory

While the Royal Wedding was the highlight of our TV calendar in all of its adorable glory (and the guest outfits), it’s about to get a hell of a lot cuter – with the nickname Prince Charles supposedly calls daughter-in-law Meghan Markle being revealed.

The Prince of Wales has named the Duchess of Sussex ‘Tungsten’, which is one of the hardest metals known to man. It may not seem like a compliment, but according to royal insiders, it means he appreciates Meghan for being a good influence on Prince Harry as he can be a ‘bit of a softy’.

The Royal expert told the  Mail on Sunday: “Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life.”

“It’s become a term of endearment.”

It’s already known that Meghan and Prince Charles have a super close relationship, especially after he stepped in to walk her down the aisle at her wedding to Prince Harry when her biological dad couldn’t make the ceremony – and Charles was ‘terribly touched’ to have been asked to do the honour.

Charles is also said to have praised Meghan to his close friends.

He reportedly told them: “She’s so intelligent and so nice. She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more.”
