Prince Charles is making a speedily recovery after testing positive for COVID-19 and will be returning to his royal duties.

British newspapers reported on Friday that the 71-year-old prince resumed his duties by opening the newly built NHS Nightingale Hospital at London’s ExCel centre via a live video feed from the comfort of his home in Scotland.

CNN reported that this was the first time a member of the British royal family performed an opening ceremony remotely.

Charles was in good health after testing positive for Covid-19 last week, said the report. The royal had been self-isolating at Birkhall, his Scottish residence.

"The Prince will also say a few words in tribute to all those who have worked tirelessly to create the new medical facility and to people across the UK who continue to deliver frontline care to those affected by the coronavirus crisis," the Clarence House statement said.

The NHS Nightingale hospital was built in nine days in a bid to treat coronavirus patient that need to be placed in intensive care unit, reported the BBC.
