Cassie opens up about her struggles and domestic violence in the midst of the P. Diddy Case

The whole world was shocked by the video footage and many people showed their support for Cassie . This shows that a response from the singer, victim of violence from her ex-companion P. Diddy, alias Sean Combs , was expected. This Thursday, May 23, she finally chose her Instagram account to send a poignant and worthy message to all those who showed her empathy.

On Friday, May 17, CNN released a video showing Sean Combs punching, kicking and dragging Cassie to the ground, during an altercation that matches the one she shows in the now-settled lawsuit. The scene filmed by surveillance cameras, stitched together from multiple angles and dated March 5, 2016, occurred at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. The broadcast of the sequence follows serious accusations made against the star by several women. Since November, Sean Combs has been accused of sexual assault by multiple plaintiffs in five civil lawsuits. In March, federal agents raided Diddy's homes in Los Angeles and Miami Beach , Florida. His lawyers called the operations a "gross abuse of armed force" and maintained that they were nothing more than a "witch hunt based on baseless accusations."

Strong speaking

Sean Combs reacted on Sunday May 20 by speaking on camera to his subscribers on Instagram. He said his attitude was “inexcusable”. “I bear full responsibility for my actions in this video,” he said.

In her statement, posted on her Instagram profile, singer Cassie does not name her attacker. She writes :

“I want to thank my family, my friends, strangers and those I haven’t met yet. The excess love created a space that allowed me to feel safe as a young woman, and that's just the beginning. Domestic violence is THE problem. They made me someone I never thought I would become. With great difficulty, I am better today, but I am still recovering from the past.

Thanks to everyone who took this topic seriously. My only request is that EVERYONE open their hearts and listen to victims as soon as they come forward. It takes a lot of courage to tell the truth when you are in a situation where you have no power.

I extend my hand to all those who live in fear. Stay close to your friends, don't cut yourself off from them. No one should have to carry this weight alone.

The road to recovery has no end but your support means everything to me.

With all my love,

Cassie

A representative for Cassie declined to comment on the footage aired on CNN, but her attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, said in a statement to the outlet: "The heartbreaking video has only confirmed Mr. Combs' disturbing and predatory behavior . Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura showed in coming forward to shed light on this matter.
