Duchess Meghan launches formal complaint over Piers Morgan's GMB rant

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has launched a formal complaint with ITV over former broadcaster Piers Morgan's Good Morning Britain (GMB) rant.

Meghan’s complaint focused on how the heavily criticised ex-broadcaster’s comments might affect those struggling with their mental health.

An online newspaper said ITV declined to comment on the report, instead referred to their original statement when contacted.

But ITV's Royal Editor Chris Ship tweeted that the complaint had been sent to the broadcaster's CEO.

Morgan stormed off the set of the GMB show midway through filming after co-star Alex Beresford described his behaviour as “diabolical”.

The controversial presenter faced heavy criticism for his remarks about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, following the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired early this week.

In the now much talked about interview, Meghan revealed she previously had suicidal thoughts due to the abuse she had received when joining the royal family.

Celebrities and social media influencers across the globe have supported the Duchess of Sussex.

Twenty four time Grammy winner, Beyonce, posted a short message on her website saying, "Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership. We are all strengthened and inspired by you."

Other influencers are however seemingly backing the British broadcaster as they argue that freedom of speech is being trampled upon and this would become a huge problem for broadcasters and people.
