Hugo BOSS launches Boss The Scent Absolute an #AugmentedSensuality fragrance

The journey into the world of BOSS The Scent Absolute, and the newest fragrance in the family, BOSS The Scent Absolute continues as the story of #AugmentedSensuality evolves from talking about the need to disconnect to reconnect in the digital age, to experiencing new sensations. We face constant distractions by living in a fast-paced world. This is our reality. Because of this, we all crave stronger, more sensorial connections that are memorable and which last. And at night we are more daring and more willing to experiment with new experiences and therefore, new sensations.

This is the inspiration behind the two new, intensely seductive fragrances For Him and For Her, which are darker, richer interpretations of the original scents. Scents for the mystery of night-time.

To immerse guests into the BOSS The Scent Absolute universe, guests took part in an interactive and immersive experience ASMR – or autonomous sensory meridian response. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this term, ASMR is the static-like, tingling sensation that you feel on the skin and scalp when one of your senses is triggered in a specific way.

The launch for the newest Hugo Boss fragrance within the Boss The Scent pillar "Boss The Scent Absolute” took place in Cape Town’s secret speak easy bar, The Art of Duplicity. The entire evening has been constructed to heightened our guest’s individual senses but depriving other senses in various activities.

Each sensory station has been developed to explore the specific notes of the two new fragrances.

Firstly, guests are blindfolded and lead through to the venue while they take in the sounds of the venue and experience the first notes of the fragrances. They then enter the bar area and are directed to one of 4 stations: A Scent exploration station n(where guests can explore the notes of the raw ingredients of the fragrances), a cocktail exploration station (where guests are treated to four cocktails that have been specifically designed to mirror a note within the cocktail), a touch station (where guests are once again blindfolded and are lead to explore the texture of the raw ingredients), and a photo station (where guests are invited to recreate the primary global campaign image).

Throughout the evening, guests were also treated to six different canapés that also align to one of the fragrance notes in either the his or her fragrances.

Guests also listened to the smooth music provided by a jazz pianist. The venue lights were kept low and moody to allow guests a more intimate means to interact with the fragrances and the other guests.  

The result is a full exploration of the fragrances touching on all the senses, and guests left with not only a far deeper understanding of the fragrances, but also with a very personalised journey.
