What would you say is your best attribute and why?
My faith, the ability to believe in a certain outcome without seeing it (vision) and then going for it.
I come from very humble beginnings which developed my compassion and open-minded perspective, resulting in me wanting to better the lives of people and, one day, change the world.
I have a positive outlook on life and believe that everything will work out for the best. I have faith in the goodness of people at the end of the day we’re all just humans filled with good, flaws and immense potential.
Who or what inspires you?
My greatest inspiration is God. If you look around you, you’ll see the intrinsic beauty of his creations. From the simple things like a smile on someone's face, the sound of true laughter. To the grander things like the majestic mountains, hilltops and oceans. And oh, if you think about the way He loves us - there's nothing like that kind of love.
I look around and yes, there are negative things in the world but the positives, beauty and uniqueness of the world far outweigh the bad.
What’s your idea of the perfect date?
For me, the core of a perfect date is spending time with an amazing person. It could involve having beautiful conversations, enjoying each other’s company, having fun, exploring something new or discovering a new place. I am passionate about charity work so doing that together would be an amazing way to bond. We could go on a crazy adventure or simply Netflix and Chill ;)
What’s your favourite drink?
It has to be a berry-flavoured drink I had in Congo called Vitalo. It reminds me of visiting my Grandma & aunts.
What is your dream vacation destination?
There are aspects of various designations that excite me. Paris has an incredible history and culture, But I’m also in love with the cultures, weather and scenery of the Seychelles, Congo, Mauritius, the Réunion Islands.
Ultimately, I must say I have two dream vacation destinations. The huts over the clear-waters in the Maldives have me thinking that that might just be my dream vacation destination.
Secondly, it’s Dubai with its an abundant luxury, adventure, beauty and innovation all in one place.
Do you have any regrets when it comes to past relationships?
I haven’t dated much, but I have no regrets. Looking back we were different people in different seasons of life. Without my past relationships, I wouldn't have learnt the lessons that I've learnt. That said, I wouldn't be the person that I am today.
True love is possible and is such a beautiful thing. But it takes working on the little things like listening more than wanting to be heard, time, really understanding others, putting ego aside for the betterment of the relationship and honest communication. Just because you said something doesn't mean you communicated it clearly, the other person may not have heard/received it the way you wanted, or even understood what you had said.
But that goes for any relationship really, whether family, friends or romantic).
Who is your style icon?
Sometimes style is not only about what you wear but how you wear it. When I say how, I'm not only eluding to the combination of items but also, and maybe even more importantly, the confidence with which you wear it.
So ironically, I don't have a style icon because my look is versatile and can change from day to day.
I pick pieces, ideas and concepts from here & there and then style something beautiful out of it. I generally like unique pieces as well as African prints and patterns which speak to my African heritage and modern identity. Then I like to pair it with something classy, sleek, elegant and well fitted.
My style is all about being me at that moment, from elegant to the simple, street, casual or sporty! Or I just get dressed LOL.
Who is your WCW?
But if I had to go mainstream I would say the likes of an older Yara Shahidi, and locally, Nomzamo. I like the way they think, their heart for people, talent, drive & willingness to go out & do good.
