Old Mutual’s Music in the Gardens hits Johannesburg with Mi Casa, the Jaziel Brothers and more

The lawns of Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden will come alive on Saturday, 25 October when Old Mutual brings its Music in the Gardens concert series to Johannesburg. With performances by Mi Casa, the Jaziel Brothers, Rorisang Sechele and more, the event will bring people together through music and a shared call to action: Add Your Voice.

A national call through music

Following a successful show in Durban, the Music in the Gardens series continues its journey across South Africa. Each event celebrates local talent while encouraging South Africans to share their priorities, thoughts and ideas for the country’s future. Through the Add Your Voice campaign, Old Mutual is helping people express their hopes for a better, more inclusive South Africa and ensuring those voices form part of policy discussions and meaningful conversations about progress.

The Add Your Voice campaign is Old Mutual’s way of encouraging open and inclusive dialogue at a time when people’s opinions matter most. Leading up to the B20 Summit, the campaign gives South Africans from all walks of life the chance to share their views on the country’s progress, challenges and future.

By linking live music events with digital participation on WhatsApp and Facebook, Old Mutual is connecting everyday voices to important national and global conversations.

Old Mutual’s commitment

“At Old Mutual, we believe in the power of music to connect people and inspire change,” says Bandile Mngoma, Senior Manager: Sponsorships and Events at Old Mutual. “Music in the Gardens has evolved into more than just a concert series. Now, it’s a national platform where people can speak about what the future of South Africa should look like. Through Add Your Voice, we’re inviting citizens to help shape a more inclusive economy and to ensure their perspectives influence the conversations that matter.”

At the centre of this campaign is the People’s Podium, a space where South Africans can share their thoughts, hopes and ideas for change. These messages will become part of the Add Your Voice movement and will be presented at the B20 Summit in November, making sure South African perspectives are heard in global discussions about growth and opportunity.

Join the movement

The Add Your Voice movement is rooted in Old Mutual’s belief that participation and connection create progress. By turning music events into spaces for engagement and shared inspiration, Music in the Gardens highlights how unity, creativity and shared expression can move the country forward together.

South Africans can join the movement by visiting @OldMutualSouthAfrica on Facebook or sending a WhatsApp message to 082 690 5619 to add their voice.
