Get the look: Sleek vs soft

The Show:

Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2015 show. The collection was inspired by the view of earth from outer space.

The look:

Inspired by the concept of space, hairstylist Antonio Corral Calero used Moroccanoil products to create contrasting textures – a duality of hard and soft. The result? This shiny slicked back ‘do which morphs into tousled, matte lengths.

How to get it:

Start with dry hair and lightly mist a root boosting spray like Moroccanoil Root Boost

from your mid-lengths to ends “to give texture and soft definition,” says Antonio.

Make a deep side part and generously apply a styling gel directly to roots while smoothing hair down flat – this will help create a sleek effect. Then “comb hair back off the face and tuck behind ears; secure with bobby pin,” explains Antonio.

“Using a large, barrel curling iron, create slight a bend at mid-lengths of hair for a loose wave,” says Antonio.  The key is to keep waves beachy and soft to contrast the sleek sophistication of the lacquered wet look.

“For hold and strong division of the two hair textures, geometrically arrange bobby pins around back of your head from ear-to-ear. Finish with an all over mist of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray

for lacquer like finish and strong, long-lasting hold,” says Antonio.
