3 Things you must DO at this year’s Design Indaba

The annual Design Indaba will run from 21 February to 23 February 2018 in multiple locations around the city. This year, the event is set to go beyond the celebration of design to create a multi-sensory experience for everyone. We’ve put together a list of the three things you must do at this year’s conference.

The Speakers

With three full days of engaging global speakers, you simply cannot miss out on the opportunity to glean from internationally recognised design veterans. Look out for talks by famed interior designer Tom Dixon, American–Israeli architect, Neri Oxman, and Cannes Lions award-winning filmmaker Sunu Gonera whose work tells authentic African stories, as seen in the music video he created for Khuli Chana.

The Food

If you’re more of a foodie than a design darling, the Design Indaba will have a smörgåsbord of tantalizing gourmet food on offer. Don’t miss out on celebrated South African chef Bertus Basson’s pop up restaurant. Also on the menu is food expert, Hannerie Visser’s curation of upscale street food at Nightscape.

The Lineup

The Nightscape music festival will take place at the Artscape Piazza, on the last two days of the Indaba. Don’t miss out on must see performances by Zaki Ibrahim, Steloolive, and internationally acclaimed musician Petite Noir.
