Everyone loves a good smokey eye! Naomi Campbell was spotted at an event recently with a modern twist on the smokey eye and a simple sheen over her lips, which is a look we simply adore.
Want to try this look at home? Just follow the easy steps below:
1. Start by filling-in the waterlines (the bits inside your lashes) of both your top and bottom eye lids with a black kohl pencil.
2.The supermodel chose purple hues to create a modern twist on the classic smokey eye, so we’d recommend you choose a palette with a selection of shades from pale lavender through to bright purple. We love Rimmel’s Glam’Eyes Quad Eyeshadow in Smokey Purple.
Use a bullet brush to create the look. Start by applying the darkest shade right along the top lash line. Then take the slightly lighter shade, and blend it up to the crease of your eye. If you want to up the intensity, add more of the darker shade – otherwise, just take the lightest shade, and blend it onto your brow bones (like you would a highlighter). Then take the middle colour along the outside half of your bottom lashes. This will even-out the effect, and make your eyes look bigger.
3. Finish the eyes with a lengthening mascara like Maybelline Illegal Lengths (R99.95).
4. To create the perfect finish, ensure your skin is flawless! We are currently obsessed with Lancome’s Teint Idole Ultra, which comes in 18 fab shades, 10 of which are for ethnic skin tones. Once you’ve got the coverage you want, use a cream concealer to cover any imperfections.
5. Finally, sweep a slick of clear lip gloss over your lips for the perfect sheen!
