This viral blush application hack will totally change the shape of your face

Mind blown.

A great blusher can transform your overall makeup look in one sweep, accentuating cheekbones, adding dimension and boosting radiance all at once. From creams to powders to liquids, there's no shortage of blush products to choose from, either. Each type offers its own unique benefits - powders are great for oily skin, a long-lasting finish as well as more intense colour, creams can add balmy radiance and be blended beautifully up to the temples as well as used on the eyelids and lips, and liquids can cover larger areas as well as create a radiant, natural look.

Without a doubt, one of the hardest parts of the process is choosing the right colour of blush to suit your skin tone and your makeup style. Makeup artist Ninni Nummela suggests choosing your colour based on your skin's unique undertones; "I like golden peaches, earthy pinks and sun-kissed corals if your skin easily tans, and cooler pinks, such as soft roses, and beautiful mauves if your skin tends to redden in the sun," she says."

Once you've chosen your formula as well as your perfect shade, there's nothing left to stop you, right? Well, according to a new viral TikTok video by @meganlavallie, you might also want to think about where you apply your blusher.

The video, which sees Megan applying liquid blush in a variety of different ways, demonstrates how blush can totally change your face shape depending on where you apply it.

Megan begins with a 'full-apple' look on one side of her face, applying blush directly on the apples of cheeks, and a "lifted" look on the other side, applying blush to the top of cheekbones in the same place you would usually apply highlighter.

Then, to a fresh face, she applies three dots of the same liquid blush underneath her cheek bone on one side of her face to make her face appear more contoured. On the other side, creates a "full-cheek" look by applying four dots of blush just above the jawline.

Finally, she applies five dots of the same blush across the tops of cheeks and bridge of her nose, which creates a "sunkissed" look.

TikTok users were quick to show their appreciation for the makeup tips, with @maye_bee commenting "I can't tell you how much I needed this explained THANK YOU" and @jennvix saying "this is a real game changer". We couldn't agree more.
