Olwethu Leshabane spills ALL the tea on her new show!

Olwethu Leshabane is a multifaceted woman and we at GLAMOUR are always in awe of her work ethic. The digital strategist, speaker, mother, wife, and founder of the Red Wings Project, recently announced her new show Oh Baby which is scheduled to premiere tonight on Dstv 1Magic at 8h30 pm.

We caught up with the superwoman to get the tea on her new show and what we can expect.

What is the show about?

With the growing glitz and glam being injected into baby showers in South Africa, this show sets out to highlight the road to being a mommy. Friends and family come together to put their heads together over the colour, the theme, the venue, the guest-list all in a quest to make mama happy.

The umbrella this show falls under is Baby Shower competition because every week our presenter I get to team up with a different celebrity mom and we attend the wedding and score it according to these categories

MOM TO BE HAPPINESS

At the end of the season there will be a finale show filled with all the celebrity moms discussing their favourite moments where the winning baby shower will be announced. The highs and the lows, the laughs, the tears and the DRAMA of it all, only on OH BABY and of course the show is brought to you by PAMPERS.

How did you and your team come up with the name of the show?

Oh Baby is the brainchild of Rose and Oaks, a partnership between Anele Mdoda, Paul Buys and Frankie Du Toit.

What's your ideal baby shower?

I’m extremely pedantic about what I want and My family is scattered across SA... so to spare the ones in my life of the stress of trying to make me happy, I opted for a baby reveal/welcome after baby was born. This way the ones closest to us could come visit as and when they could and bring gifts for baby.

What advice would you give to new moms?

Do it your way! Trust your instinct and accept that you are figuring it out... every child is different.

What does a baby shower actually mean for moms?

So many things - It’s a celebration of life, a moment to bring all the people that matter together and give thanks. Baby showers have also evolved to become such amazing information sharing spaces now, a mom to be walks away having had fun, informed, affirmed and felling loved.

What’s the best advice you would like to give to friends or family organizing the perfect baby shower?

Centre it around mom. Something as simple as having a family member that means the world to mom takes her day from ‘okay’ to ‘the ultimate baby shower’ and she’s on cloud 9.

What can we look forward to in the show?

Drama, tears, laughs, fun, and lots of happy baby bumps! We have mom to be risking their lives to carry the baby they’ve prayed for, a mom to be who has been praying for her bundle of joy for over 6 years, and a mom to be who had temporarily shelve her dancing shoes as a Taboo hostess and is about to embark on the single motherhood journey as baby daddy is MIA. I won’t lie, the competition is tight. These moms to be are competing for a grand prize at the end of the season, high includes a lifetime supply of Pampers! So, with all the tears, laughs, drama and chaos, a real competition element makes for some awesome TV time.
