Sarah Kozlowski’s exclusive Cannes travel diary

South African Actress, Sarah Kozlowski is no stranger to the international stage. Having been signed in Los Angeles, the talented actress saw herself travel to one of the most prestigious and exciting film festivals to have ever been created.

Promoting her new film Alexia, Sarah saw herself rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s best at world renowned Cannes Film Festival!

Paparazzi spotting – where ever I went from screenings, boutiques, hotel lobbies and exclusive restaurants there is a camera lens hiding somewhere hoping to snap a celebrity.

Walking the red carpet at a world premier at the Cannes film festival. I was lucky enough to attend the premier of Russel Crowe and Ryan Goslings new film, Nice Guys. I met Russel briefly whilst living in LA and it was wonderful to see him walk the carpet and celebrate his film like the true pro that he is. He took so much time to sign as many autographs as possible which is very sincere as people come from all over the world and queue for days to be able to get a spot next to the carpets in order to grab an autograph. He spent much more time than Ryan Gosling, sorry ladies!

Film industry scandal. You will be the fist to hear all the scandal of the film world at the festival just before it hits the world press. This year Kristin Stewart’s new film Personal Shopper was booed by press and screening attendees. In the film’s defence so was the iconic Pulp Fiction and Robert De Niro’s, Taxi Driver in past festivals. Julia Roberts also took off her shoes whilst walking the red carpet for her film Money Monster in support of woman’s rights. It’s a big deal as the dress code at Cannes has been traditionally strict since it’s inception. She actually ran the risk of being thrown off the carpet!

If you can get into Hotel du Cap for lunch, it’s worth it. The parking lot is crystal clear, blue water where the world’s most exclusive, luxury yachts park and ferry in to grab a bite. I spotted Kevin Spacey on the day I was there.

From cocktail functions to industry parties and private screenings a girl needs to pack as many dresses as possible. You need to be finished from head to toe and one can easily feel underdressed hence go glamorous as opposed to simple. I chose Quiteria and George as the local designers I wanted to support whilst on this trip. I love their unique colour selections and their designs tend to stand out which is exactly what you want on the red carpet.

Get invited to a yacht party!! Yacht etiquette makes everyone remove their shoes before getting on in order to look after the multi-million dollar vessels. Ladies if your shoes are the statement piece of your ensemble when going to a yacht party, think again as no one will see them.
