Kylie Jenner rocks Thebe Magugu’s AW21 collection

Designer Thebe Magugu’s Autumn/Winter 2021 collection made waves when it was first released early last year. Called ’Alchemy’, the collection is inspired by the changing faces of African spirituality.

With more and more young people becoming open about their journeys and experiences into that world, Magugu was inspired to find a sense of modernity in the indigenous.

One such image of 21st-Century modernity is Kylie Jenner. The social media mogul was seen rocking Thebe Magugu’s Alchemy collection in a new photo.

In the image, Kylie wears the Caped Shoulder Wool Suit while sitting in the backseat of a car. She pairs the outfit with a headscarf and black gloves and finishes off the look with a winged liner.

It is not clear whether this image was taken as part of planned photoshoot, however the photograph projects a uniquely 70s vibe - similar to that of the unreleased W magazine spread she did with Travis Scott.

Taking to social media, the designer shared the photo in an Instagram post:

This is not the first major celeb who’s shown love to the designer. Back in August, Miley Cyrus was seen lounging in a private jet wearing red Thebe Magugu suit, while Issa Rae showed off the Petrol Green Jacket and Skirt in an episode of Insecure. Back in November, British actress Thandie Newton wore a pleated blouse and matching skirt from the Alchemy collection to an event for British Vogue.

The designer was also the winner of the prestigious LVHM Prize in 2019, making him the first African designer to be awarded the honour. The prize provided him with 300 000 euros and a year’s worth of mentoring from the LVHM group.

One thing we know for sure is that Thebe Magugu is definitely the hottest designer to be seen in right now.
