Kim Kardashian’s Skims shapewear brand has just announced a collaboration with Italian fashion house Fendi.
On Monday, Kardashian posted a series of images of herself on Instagram modelling items from the collection.
The capsule collection will include Skims’ signature boy-hugging body suits, as well as hosiery, tops, dresses, leggings, puffer jackets, gloves and a handbag.
Kardashian worked with Fendi creative director Kim Jones to fuse the two brands’ aesthetics and bring about a creative vision that is closely aligned. The designs also feature hybrid of the Skims and Fendi logos.
This is the first designer collaboration for Skims while Fendi is no stranger to headline-making partnerships. Last month, the luxury fashion house teamed up with Versace to showcase their ‘Fendace’ show.
With the collaboration, Jones said it was his teams’ genuine love of Skims that sparked him to want to work with the brand.
The designer recounted there was a time when all the women in his office “went silent and started staring at their phones.”
“I didn’t know what was going on, but they were waiting for the launch of the new Skims collection. It was then that I thought: let’s do something together,” he said in a press release.
The collection is described as focusing on “twisted tube tops, pop colors and tight sashes,” while delivering the same “fit and form Skims is known for.”
“The innovation in fabrics and fit typical to Skims paired with the luxury and quality of Fendi may feel unexpected to some people, but the similarities between our creative vision and goals are so closely aligned,” Kardashian said. “It’s that tension that excites me.”
The Fendi x Skims collection will launch 9 November and will be exclusively available on fendiskims.com and select Fendi stores worldwide.
