Dining with the stars

Celebrity special premiere episode to kick-off season 5 of Come Dine With Me South Africa.

Television personality Candice Modiselle, reality TV star Christall Kay, fashion designer to the stars, Gert Johan Coetzee and radio personality Lucky Du Plessis, are set to kick-off the fifth season of Come Dine with Me SA next month.

The four celebs will be taking each other on for the dinner party ‘host with the most title’ and the usual R10 000 prize – but this time it will be for their chosen charity.

The premiere episode will air on DStv's BBC Brit channel on 11 March. You can look forward to twelve episodes of drama, eccentric homes, quirky fashionista’s and delusions of gourmet grandeur—remember that one episode where canned tuna was served as a main? Of course, the show wouldn't be the same without narrator Dave Lamb coming for everyone’s wigs, brows, and lashes, with his sharp wit and sarcasm. We are here for all of it.

Dare I say, "Opportunity dines with those already in the kitchen." Everyone loves a healthy dose of fine dining, but how do you manage when you're the one tasked to do the hosting?? 😂 Ooh chile, was it not a challenge? I was thrown completely outside of my comfort zone, but alas, sink or swim right?? Anyone that knows me well knows how limited my culinary skills are. I'm more of the consumer than the cook. I laughed through it all, may have shed a tear or 2 but all in all, it was an incredible experience alongside @lucky2plus3, @gertjohancoetzee and @christallkay. A special mention goes out to @makhubo_thechef for being my calm in the storm 😂 Watch the magic unfold on the 11th of March, BBC Brit Channel 120. It's a #ComeDineSA date, right?

Fashion designer Gert Johan Coetzee, fashion designer and mentor on Project Runway SA said “I am someone who loves a new challenge. I have always liked cooking, but am much more confident at baking, so thought this would be a good, new fun thing to try out. I planned my evening to perfection and cannot wait to see what people think of my couture evening as it was, in my opinion, cooked and styled to perfection and all in aid of a good cause."
