Hillsong Church South Africa
The leadership of Hillsong Church South Africa has decided to temporarily suspend Sunday church gatherings, starting from Sunday, 22 March 2020, in order to limit physical contact and prevent the transmission of COVID-19. This decision follows the recent national address by President Cyril Ramaphosa and advisories issued by the authorities (the National Security Council by recommendation of the National Emergency Response Committee).
"The physical health and well-being of our congregation is our highest priority. At the same time, it is vital to stay connected and to keep building church community. To ensure that our church family can remain planted in God’s House during this health crisis and still have a great church experience we will be live-streaming our Sunday services," Pastor Phil Dooley explains.
"Let’s continue to stand together in faith and pray Psalm 91 over ourselves, our families and South Africa. ‘We’re a resilient nation," adds Pastor Phil Dooley. ‘We’ve lived through a water crisis. We’ve kept going through load shedding. And we’ll stand firm in faith through this pandemic. Together, we can do this."
