Vegetarian delight

Catharina’s Restaurant now offers a full vegetarian menu, from starters to desserts, including a five-course tasting menu. With options like butternut ravioli, tempura courgette spaghetti, cashew and chilli-crusted tofu and apple tatin, all your cravings will be satisfied.

John Legend extended

Cape Town fans will be happy to know that due to high demands, an extra date has been added to the Cape Town leg of the ‘Darkness and Light’ tour. Get your tickets at Computicket and Big Concerts. See him in Cape Town on 9, 10 and 11 November at the GrandWest Grand Arena. He’ll be performing in Joburg on 3 and 4 November at the Ticketpro Dome and in Durban on 7 November at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Shop for change

MIMCO is doing pretty with a purpose. They’ve teamed up with Ethical Fashion Initiative in an initiative to affect positive change in the developing world through development. EFI connects craftspeople from developing countries with the international value chain of fashion. Shop the MIMCO collection at Woolworths and MIMCO retail stores nationwide and do your little bit.

Festival fun! 

Littlegig Music Festival comes to Wiesenhof Farm on 17 and 18 February 2018 for the third annual showcase of musicians, DJs, chefs, winemakers, artists, designers, speakers and contemporary dancers. Tickets are limited and go for R2 150 – R2 450 and cost includes all food and drink. The festival starts Saturday at 10am to Sunday 12pm. Call (021) 422 0849 or visit for more information.

It’s picnic season

From 1 October 2017 to 30 April 2018 you can enjoy a lovely, rustic French-style picnic at the Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek. Attention rock music lovers

The Script will be returning to South Africa in support of their latest album Freedom Child. They’ll be performing in Cape Town on 2 May 2018 at the GrandWest Grand Arena and in Pretoria on 4 May 2018 at the Time Square’s Sun Arena. Tickets go on sale 29 September 2017. Visit for more info.
