Book Dash is an innovative venture with a simple objective. You and your friends can take part by forming a team and making beautiful books for children that can be translated, printed and distributed by anyone.
With the growing need for children’s books and how expensive it is to print and publish them, the Book Dash makes it possible to reduce the production costs to just printing, plus can get involved in sponsoring print runs and delivering completed books into the hands of children.
Taking part in the Book Dash is easy: you can either enter in a team of three or volunteer on the day and work with some the the the leading writers, illustrators, designers and translators in your city. If you want to enter your team, keep the following in mind:
Each team will need a writer, illustrator (this person must bring their own illustrating equipment) and a designer responsible for layout and typography (this person must bring a laptop with Adobe CS5 or later). All the teams will be working with a few experts on the day who don’t belong to any team, including a facilitator, a host, an editor and an archivist-storyteller.
