GLAMOUR Magazine Hosts Inaugural GALENTINE'S Event in Johannesburg

GLAMOUR Magazine, in partnership with Durex, hosted its first-ever GALENTINE’s event at Diane-Paris’s luxury showroom in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 28 February 2024.

The exclusive gathering featured VVIP guests, including reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert, Mommy Club’s star Happy Simelane, Big Brother Titans Star (Winner) Khosi Twala, Fashion Model and Entrepreneur Blue Mbombo, TV Personality Nomalanga Shozi, News Anchor Abigail Visagie, influencer Pam Zokuhle and transgender activist and Reality TV Star Yaya Mavundla, who is also a Durex influencer.

The lavish evening kicked off with a special curated fashion show by Diane Paris, featuring stunning outfits that showcased the brand's exquisite ready-to-wear collection, with a touch of Parisian glamour. Models graced the runway in captivating ensembles, embodying the essence of the brand and its fashionable allure.

Highlighting the event was a captivating Q&A session with GLAMOUR’s Editor-In-Chief, Nontando Mposo and Diana Pengilly, Founder of Diane-Paris. Their discussion delved into the inspiration behind the Diane-Paris' collections, drawn from her global travels, as well as the curation of pieces sourced from Paris and beyond.

The pinnacle of the evening was the unveiling of Yaya Mavundla’s GLAMOUR Digital cover, commemorating Durex’s recently launched “Durex Invisible” campaign. Yaya and Durex’s acting brand manager Simphiwe Hlophe engaged in a special Q&A with Nontando, shedding light on their partnership and the essence of Durex’s “Durex Invisible” campaign.

Throughout the evening, guests were treated to a delightful array of cuisine by catering company “Only 1 Cuisine”. Their Tapas menu featured a variety of dishes, including smoked and grilled eggplant stuffed with herby couscous, spicy snoek, mini sundried tomato & basil tarts, chicken salad cups and a delectable poached pear pie wrapped in phyllo pastry with caramel sauce featuring Kellogg's Coco Delight Granola.

Enhancing the ambiance of the hot summer night, guests cooled off with refreshing Ice Tropez and expertly crafted cocktails by Thabiso Mabanna, the craft mixologist from Helden Distillery. His bespoke creations, "GLAMOUROUS Gin Fizz" and "Beet Blush Bliss," added a unique and delightful touch to the evening's experience.

The lush lawns of Diane Paris’s venue provided a luxurious backdrop for guests to enjoy activations and interact with event partners Hannon and Cosmetology, Helden Distillery, Ice Tropez and skincare brand Kgopelo.

As a token of appreciation, guests were sent home with a jam-packed goody bag, in keeping with GLAMOUR’s tradition of delighting attendees with special mementos by Yardley, Color Rebel, Luvland, Aero, Soft Lips, Derma Et Al, Kimaya Beauty, Durex, Hannon, Cosmetology, Kgopelo, Environ and Revlon.
