5 Trends that #MustFall in 2018

After years of begging and petitioning for his resignation, on Wednesday night, President Jacob Zuma resigned as the president of the Republic of South Africa. So we got to thinking…perhaps there’s hope for those stubborn trends that just won’t go away.

Now that Zuma has finally fallen, here are the five trends that must fall before the end of 2018.

1. Ill fitting clothing

There’s over sized, and then there’s oh so wrong. We’re hoping that as the year unfolds, ill fitting clothing would be given the boot! C’mon ladies, let’s celebrate what our mommas gave us and opt for more tailored pieces.

2. Squat posing on Instagram

If we see one more squat pose on IG, we might just quit the social media platform all together! Made famous by Rihanna, Bella Hadid, SZA and Dej Loaf, the pose has been bombarding our feeds since 2016. Let’s leave squatting where it belongs – the gym!

3. Fishnets under jeans

This trend is hit or miss. When a certain amount of restraint is applied, the fishnets under jeans look comes across as chic and edgy. Unfortunately, many followers of the trend have missed the mark. Thus we’d like to see this look fall. Fast.

4. Biker Shorts

Arguably the most unflattering pair of pants on the planet, biker shorts stole the show this past year, but need to exit stage before 2018 comes to a close!

5. Clear boots

They’re uncomfortable, they make your feet sweat, and they need to resign from our closets with immediate effect. The brain child of rapper turned designer, Kanye West, we’ve seen these shoes on every Hollywood singer and movie starlet. It’s crystal clear that these boots need to walk out of our lives ASAP!
