Our favourite pan-African hip hop and Afrobeats artists

Tiwa Savage

Us Africans sure know how to break it down on the dancefloor. So, in honour of Africa month, we’ve put together a playlist made up of our favourite pan-African afrobeats and hip-hop musicians. From Naija to Mzansi, these pan-African artists are killing the game!

Tiwa Savage – Nigeria

Known as the BeyoncĂ© of the continent; we’ve been blasting the sounds of Tiwa Savage since the day she signed to Naija hitmaker Don Jazzy. Tiwa has since gone on to sign a deal with Jay Z’s label Roc Nation.

Sarkodie – Ghana

Arguaby, one of the biggest hip hop acts to come out of Ghana, Sarkodie has put Ghana on the map with his hard-hitting afro-hop tracks.

Davido – Nigeria

When it comes to Afrobeats, Davido has the midas touch! It seems like every track he touches turns into gold. From New York to Lagos, Davido has the world grooving to his killer tunes.

Nasty C – South Africa

Ever since this Kwa Zulu Natal-born younster released his hit single “Hell Naw”, he has been dominating charts. After turning down a record deal from Roc Nation, Nasty C took it upon himself to take over the South African hip hop game with songs like “Allow” which features Morrocan-born US artist, French Montana.

Yemi Alade – Nigeria

The princess of Naija pop, Yemi Alade rose to fame after she won the Peak Talent show back in 2009. Today, the beautiful songstress is gracing the charts with bangers like “Bum Bum” and “Johnny”.

Happy Africa month ya’ll!
