Make your makeup last the whole night

Long nights can spell disaster for your makeup, so bulletproof your look with tips from celeb makeup artists Angela Levin and Jillian Dempsey.

Eyeshadow

A longwear, cream eyeshadow is great fro all-night endurance, but it dries quickly. To buy a bit more application time, start with an eye primer – it acts as a barrier, preventing the shadow from setting instantly, says Angela.

Lashes

Angela prefers three coats of volumising mascara for extra impact. “After each coat, remove clumps with a spooley brush,” she says.

Concealer

Liquid concealers are quick and easy to apply, but they tend to linger in fine lines and disappear after a few hours. A drier formula or stick concealer is more durable and won’t crease in lines.

Lips

Start with a stain, then let it sit for 30 seconds and top it with a semi-matte lipstick. “You get both the long lasting effect of the stain the intense colour of the lipstick,” says Jillian.
