Top trends from Fashion Week!

As seen at Joy Cioci, Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne Westwood and Badgley Mischka

Move over ankle boots and statement hats (OK, just for a moment), because autumn 2012 is all about using nails as your statement accessory. The top nail trend on catwalks? Nail art and French manicures with a twist. You can change them up every day of the week and match them to your outfits, all for less than R100 – now, who could say that for shoes?

Backstage tricks:

To create a twist on a classic nail look, paint your nails in a rich, deep winter colour like Essie Nail Polish in Over the Top. Finish with a topcoat and wait at least five minutes until the coats have dried. Then, dip a skinny detail brush (found at any art supply store) in a traffic stopping shade – we love Zoya Professional Lacquer in Charisma for this season. With small, precise strokes, paint an arch onto the tip of your nails for a finger look with fizz!
