If we rewind back to 2012, we might find where it all started. It was the Givenchy couture show and designer Riccardo Tisci showed models wearing nose rings. No not the type the cool girls wore at school but heavily adorned septum rings. Tisci’s girls were punky princesses and it got everyone talking.
Fast-forward a couple of years and the nose-ring trend is still going strong. Rihanna, FKA Twigs, Lady Gaga, Scarlett Johansson, Zoë, (the list goes on) have all tried it out. Would you, could you? Here’s how.
Start with something at the smaller and daintier end of the spectrum (septum? Sorry). For day keep it casual and classic by teaming with a simple tee and jeans. Keep all other jewellery to an absolute minimum. For evening go for something with a little embellishment and wear with a sleek black slip or shift dress. The key to is to keep the rest of your look polished and that includes clean hair, freshly polished nails and clean, minimal make-up. Scruffy is not an option.
