All Images: Uyapo Ketogetswe It has been a busy year for fashionistas; from the g lamourous South African Fashion Week to the well-established international scene of New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion shows.

Botswana with its third installment of the Masa Fashion Show was not to be left behind as it continued to redefine the local creative and textiles industry.

This year’s show was for the better through strengthening cross-industry relationships and creating opportunities for growth in the fashion industry.

The much-anticipated extravaganza returned under the exciting theme, “Spotlight on Botswana”.

Speaking on the choice of theme, Masa Square Hotel General Manager, Hayden Bowl said, “This year our beloved country has made a number of strides and gained international recognition in the media and society at large.”

He added, “Stories are being shared; both positive and negative, the underlying issue remains that they are told from a foreign lens. Masa Square Hotel recognises that the time is now to tell our narrative as Batswana. Who are we? What do we have to offer? What does it mean to be proudly Motswana today? Hence the title ‘Spotlight on Botswana’”.

The Masa Fashion Show by Masa Square Hotel took place in the middle of the CBD, closing off one of the busiest roads in the capital Gaborone for a one of a kind fashion spectacle that saw 15 designers showcase their various Spring/Summer collections.

Take a look at some of the Incredibly enviable spring/summer pieces which were on display at the fashion event.
