Metro FM has officially announced the hosts for the 2026 Metro FM Music Awards, confirming media personality Lerato Kganyago and award-winning actor and presenter Lawrence Maleka as the main hosts for one of South Africa’s biggest nights in music.
The prestigious awards ceremony is set to take place on Saturday, 25 April 2026 at the Durban International Convention Centre (Durban ICC), where the country’s top artists will gather to celebrate excellence across multiple music genres. The event continues to position Durban as a key hub for major entertainment moments in South Africa, attracting industry leaders, celebrities and fans from across the country.
Alongside the main hosts, Metro FM is expected to roll out a star-studded supporting presenting line-up to keep the energy flowing across the red carpet, backstage and live show segments. Familiar faces such as entertainment commentator Scoop Makhathini, media personality and rapper Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena, radio host and dj Lamiez Holworth, Zola Mhlongo, Somizi and Hope Mbhele are among those expected to feature in presenting and interviewing roles, adding extra flair and personality to the broadcast experience.
This year’s awards promise a highly competitive field, with leading nominations going to some of the biggest names in South African music. Sam Deep has emerged as one of the standout nominees, earning multiple nods including major category recognition. Amapiano heavyweights Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa continue their dominance with several nominations, while rising stars such as Lordkez and Zee Nxumalo are some of the night's strong contenders.
