GLAMOUR: What inspired you to venture into bridal wear?
Tsotetsi KL: Tsotetsi KL has been actively running for 3 years, as a young brand. Recently we have gained enough momentum, respect and demand through our craft that there developed a market for bridal. TKL Bride branched out of the original Tsotetsi KL. With our workload for the bridal launch, we believe we will fulfill the demand of our TKL Bride clients.
GLAMOUR: We know you pride yourself with precision, fit and quality; what else can we expect to see in the bridal collection?
Tsotetsi KL: Individuality, distinctiveness and clouded in character.
GLAMOUR: Who is the perfect Tsotetsi KL bride?
Tsotetsi KL: Any sophisticated young woman who is not scared to turn heads. A woman with a flair for fashion. TKL Bride serves women who do not hesitate to demand attention to appropriate fit, quality and perfection, for their special day, all the while portraying the genuine distinctiveness of such a gown.
GLAMOUR: Why did you choose Amanda du-Pont, Nhlanhla Nciza, Thando Thabethe, Rorisang Thandekiso and Melanie Ramjee as the faces of the campaign?
Tsotetsi KL: All these ladies resemble different South African women which the brand embodies.
GLAMOUR: What was it like to work with all these different personalities?
Tsotetsi KL: It was shocking at first, until they all arrive at the venue. That’s when I knew their faith and how they believed in me and the growth of the brand overpower these differences. They all compromised their schedules to come pose for a whole day, so it goes without saying how positively they approached it.
GLAMOUR: Where can soon-to-be brides get their hands on a Tsotetsi KL bridal gown?
Tsotetsi KL: They can contact me at [email protected] to arrange an exclusive consultation.
GLAMOUR: What summer bridal trends are making waves this season?
Tsotetsi KL: Lace, lace, lace, lace… Everywhere. And beading.
GLAMOUR: If you could dress anyone in the world for their wedding who would it be, and what would you put them in?
Tsotetsi KL: No one in particular. I like that brides are different and I can connect their personality with their dresses. I want to make their dresses speak for them, to relate their true emotion, perfect for their special day.
GLAMOUR: What’s next for Tsotetsi KL after this?
Tsotetsi KL: We’re looking into other ventures with bridal wear being the key focus for the brand moving forward. The brand will soon have its key focus on TKL Bride.
