5 Reasons you don’t want to miss this party

Feel Good Series is a party founded by Nandi Dlepu that happens monthly in Johannesburg. It’s a hip-hop, Afrobeats, dancehall and everything-in-between party, featuring a live musical performance by an emerging artist at each edition.

For the last 18 months, they’ve showcased some of the best up and coming talent in the country and they will be kick-starting the year with the “mother”of all Feel Goods. This kick-starter edition will be a creative and fun house of music and art, called UMI (meaning mother in Arabic): Our Music Festival.

1.  There will be 4 live acts and 8 DJ’s.

This is the biggest line-up ever hosted by Feel Good Series. The programme is jam-packed, starting at 3pm sharp and ending at midnight. This means that there will be a variety of artists and you get to listen to all of them in one day! It doesn’t get better than this.

2. You curated the line-up!

UMI featured a “Curate Our Line-Up” call to action where they took to Instagram, asking followers to nominate artists for the line-up. All the performing artists were chosen by you, and this gives you all the more reason not to miss the party. Artists that you like and are familiar with will be there because you chose them.

3. You’ll support local, upcoming artists.

When you attend UMI: Our Music Festival, you’ll support our local, upcoming artists. The confirmed artists are Muzi, Yanga Yaya, DJ Doowap, Darkie Fiction, Mystical Ebony, Blaqkongo, So Kool, Spoken Priestess, Score Beats, Amazon, Adillxh and Melo B. They are all a breath of fresh air and game-changers. This is an opportunity for you to witness the current change and new faces in our local music industry.

4. It’s more than just music…

It’s also about style, culture and art. Feel Good Series attendees are of the most stylish people. This is a chance for you to express your personal style whilst having fun on the dancefloor. You also get a chance to mingle with local creatives.

5. The venue is stunning!

Victoria Yards says that it is “redefining the Joburg inner-city landscape”. This venue is known for its artistic and cultural community where the tenants are local artisans, fashion designers, visual artists and more. The venue has reconstructed buildings that have a refreshing and modern, yet old-world appeal. This is the perfect place to have a party filled with art and culture lovers.

UMI: Our Music Festival will take place on 23 February at Victoria Yards in Johannesburg. It’s the first of its kind– an event you certainly don’t want to miss! Purchase your tickets
