Glamour: Please talk us through some of your onboard experiences?
Jonathan: Travelling with LIFT also means customers get our full-service offering which includes free Vida e Caffè coffee and snacks included in their fare. We’ve also aimed to be innovative in our collaborations, to surprise and delight our passengers. Since the launch, we’ve had a silent disco at 36 000 ft, played onboard bingo, had the Cape Town Opera perform live, and hosted two Golden Ticket Hunts.
Glamour: What else can your passengers look forward to?
Jonathan: We’ve partnered with SA brands like Grumpy Snacks, Vida e Caffe and Veldskoen to improve the onboard experience, and most recently, we’ve collaborated with MasterChef SA Winner, Shawn Godfrey, to design our Premium menu. We’re also a dog-friendly airline, so those travellers with small dogs can travel with them in the cabin. The part we’re most proud of, is our customer service. Our teams both on the ground and in the sky, are driven to give all travellers a stand-out experience. From booking to touch- down, you can expect real service, care and all-round good energy when travelling with LIFT.

DOG-FRIENDLY: Some people want to travel with their dogs. The airline offers select flights for small dogs who travel in a pet-friendly carrier bag placed under the seat in front of their owner/s.
LIFT PREMIUM: Offering extra comfort and care. The first three rows have been reconfigured to create a Premium section, with special attention to detail, space and convenience. Expect extra legroom and wider seating. Middle seats are converted into an additional tray table, guaranteeing a window or aisle seat for optimum space and comfort. Premium travellers will also enjoy easy flight changes, priority boarding, fast-tracked security, priority support, a dedicated check-in area and lounge access, as well as exceptional catering options.

Jonathan notes that the aviation sector is growing globally, and that there’s a positive shift in the local market as we move towards pre-pandemic levels of air travel. “It is a sector that offers such a great variety of opportunities for everyone and we see more and more women entering this sector and growing careers in this industry. Affirming that whether as ground or cabin crew, or in some more technical roles, including pilots and engineers, “there is no role today that cannot be fulfilled by a woman with the right skills.”
