Windhoek brought real glamour to the Durban July

At this year’s Hollywoodbets Durban July, Windhoek Beer created a standout moment with The Marvellous Safari Oasis, a chic retreat that celebrated South African spirit with 100% real refreshment and glamour rooted in authenticity.

“Windhoek is brewed with just barley, hops and water, and that same purity guided everything we brought to the Durban July,” said Thato Mothibeli, Brand Manager of Windhoek Beer SA. From the calming design to the effortless vibes, the marquee was a space to pause, sip and reset.

Think warm textures, earthy tones and a dreamy soundscape that created a luxe escape from the crowd. DJ sets by Chad Daniels and Kabelo Sabelo Promise Seleke had guests moving, while South African-inspired bites and Windhoek tastings added local flavour with a twist.

At the Bold & Refreshing Tasting Island, Windhoek Tour Hosts welcomed visitors to savour Windhoek Lager and Windhoek Draught while revealing the craft behind Windhoek Beer’s Reinheitsgebot brewing standard. Guests tested their taste buds in a blind tasting challenge, earning tokens for chic Windhoek merchandise when their senses hit the mark.

Inside the Pegasus Lounge, it was all about connection, with intimate seating, a locally sourced harvest table and feel-good conversations over perfectly chilled beers. Guests explored a three-stop game drive experience, collecting Windhoek coins that could be swapped for stylish keepsakes like binoculars/umbrellas, scarves and heel stoppers. It was a playful way to reward curiosity and slow the moment.

It was Windhoek’s way of showing how glamour can be real, grounded and refreshingly Mzansi. Every moment of the Windhoek experience at the Hollywoodbets Durban July was designed to celebrate the magic of Mzansi and the story behind the brand. With thoughtful touches and a clear sense of identity, Windhoek brought 100 years of quality to life at the Hollywoodbets Durban July.
