What happens when you bring 17 women, a snow-covered escape and a suitcase full of winter skincare together in one of Southern Africa’s coldest destinations? Something that feels a little less like a traditional brand trip and a lot more like a winter story worth telling.
For Dove, winter became the perfect setting to put its skincare to the test.
Rather than simply talking about the effects of colder weather on skin, Dove took its winter essentials into the heart of it, bringing 11 of its partners and six members of the Dove Creator Collective together for a Sistercation in Clarens.
With its snow-covered landscapes as the backdrop, the trip unfolded through ski days, après-ski moments and a sunrise hot-air-balloon experience, giving creators the opportunity to experience Dove’s winter skincare story beyond the bathroom and in the elements themselves.
And while the setting was undeniably beautiful, the skincare had a purpose to serve.
Meet the Winter Skincare Line-Up
At the centre of the experience was Dove’s Pro-Ceramide Serum, formulated to support the skin barrier during colder conditions, alongside the Dove Nourishing Care range, which focuses on moisture and hydration to help keep skin feeling nourished and cared for.
Because when temperatures drop and winter starts making its presence known, keeping skin comfortable and moisturised becomes less of a beauty extra and more of a seasonal essential.
More Than a Brand Trip
The Sistercation wasn’t only about skincare.
Bringing together Dove’s established partners and six members of its Creator Collective created an opportunity for different generations of creators to connect, share experiences and learn from one another.
For some of the emerging creators, the trip also marked their first-ever brand trip, offering a glimpse into the possibilities of the creator economy while giving them an opportunity to build relationships within the industry.
That sense of connection became part of the story itself.
Across social media, the Sistercation unfolded through moments that felt spontaneous and lived-in: women navigating the snow, laughing together, taking on new experiences, resetting between adventures and, of course, documenting it all along the way.
Rather than simply placing a product in a winter setting, Dove created an experience around the very thing its skincare was designed to help women navigate.
Making Winter Part of the Experience
There is something particularly appealing about a winter escape when you know your skin is prepared for it.
The Dove Sistercation transformed a familiar seasonal skincare concern into an opportunity to embrace everything that comes with winter — from snowy adventures to slower moments of self-care and connection.
Because perhaps the best way to approach winter isn’t to spend the season trying to escape it.
It’s to be prepared for it, and enjoy it while you’re there.
Skin that doesn’t sit out the adventure. It shows up for it
