SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon: British silk craftsmanship and cultural luxury at Mansion House, London

On 27 June 2026, British cultural luxury House SELHAYA® further defined its place within contemporary luxury through the inaugural SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon, an invitation-only event celebrating British silk craftsmanship, culture and timeless design at Mansion House in the City of London.

Hosted in the historic Egyptian Hall and set within the Grade I-listed Georgian residence, the Salon brought together royalty, cultural leaders, founders, philanthropists, patrons of the arts and figures from the worlds of fashion and luxury.

Yet this was not designed as a conventional fashion show.

Through SELHAYA silk couture, framed silk artworks, live music, elegant afternoon tea and considered conversation, the House invited guests into a wider cultural world, creating a platform for dialogue around craftsmanship, cultural identity and the enduring value of handmade artistry.

The event also introduced SELHAYA’s first collection of framed silk artworks, demonstrating how silk can move beyond fashion to become collectable art.

Founded by Aisha Hossain and Sajjad Choudhury, SELHAYA has developed a distinctive approach to luxury, bringing ceremonial silk garments, bespoke commissions, framed silk artworks and cultural experiences together within a single creative vision. Rather than following seasonal fashion trends, the House focuses on creating meaningful pieces that celebrate heritage, craftsmanship and storytelling.

Among the distinguished attendees was Her Regal Majesty Queen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, who participated in the Salon and spoke about the importance of fashion, identity and cultural heritage. Her presence reflected growing international recognition for initiatives that champion craftsmanship, women’s empowerment and cultural preservation.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the presentation of The Sovereign Jewel, an original framed silk artwork handcrafted in gold silk taffeta and embellished with intricate embroidery and more than 800 crystals. Created as an artistic expression of gratitude and shared cultural values, the artwork reflects SELHAYA’s expanding vision of silk as both wearable luxury and collectable art.

Since its launch, SELHAYA has positioned itself as more than a luxury fashion label. The House is building a cultural platform centred on exceptional silk craftsmanship, thoughtful design and meaningful experiences. Through ceremonial garments, private commissions, curated salons and artistic collaborations, the brand aims to preserve traditional craftsmanship while presenting it through a contemporary global lens.

The inaugural Salon at Mansion House was not simply a presentation of what SELHAYA had created. It marked the opening of a world the House intends to build for years to come.

The next edition will expand the Salon into an elegant gala evening featuring SELHAYA couture, a silk art exhibition and a curated cultural programme.

The SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon Returns

The 2nd annual SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon is now being curated for June 2027 in London.

The next edition will expand the Salon into an elegant gala evening featuring SELHAYA couture, a silk art exhibition and a curated cultural programme.

Once again, the gathering will bring together royalty, cultural leaders, collectors, philanthropists, private patrons and figures from the worlds of luxury, art and enterprise.

Prospective guests, sponsors and institutional partners may now register priority interest in participating in the next chapter of the Salon.

Looking ahead, SELHAYA remains committed to work that brings craftsmanship, culture and human connection together as the House develops its international presence.
