Ackermans, one of South Africa’s leading value fashion retailers, unveiled its Winter 2026 collection on 9 April in Johannesburg with an immersive showcase that brought the season’s vision to life
Hosted by Editor-in-Chief of Glamour South Africa, Nontando Mposo, the event gathered media, influencers and local content creators for an evening that blended fashion, storytelling and experience. Among the attendees were Mogale Mohale, Gaisang Keaikitse Noge, Happy Simelane, Lisa Mthembu and Ruvesh Pillay, alongside Ackermans’ Summer A.Listers, including Tansey Coetzee, Dineo Lioma, Ntando Duma and Olwethu Leshabane.
The evening unfolded through a dynamic runway show featuring winter looks across kids, teens, women and men, complemented by gallery-style installations and a curated styling masterclass. Together, these elements offered guests a first-hand look at how Ackermans continues to bring value to life through fashion that is both accessible and expressive.
The showcase embodied the theme Winter looks good on you, celebrating individuality, everyday value and the ease of dressing for the season. On the runway, texture, layering and versatility took centre stage, with key pieces spanning knitwear, fleece, denim and outerwear. From playful, practical outfits for kids to more elevated looks for adults, the collection demonstrated how winter style can feel both polished and wearable.
Beyond the runway, the collection extends thoughtfully to babies and toddlers, ensuring comfort, quality and design remain consistent across every stage of childhood. For women, standout pieces include trench coats, boots and faux leather, while kids’ wear leans into character designs, soft fleece and durable essentials that balance charm with functionality.
This season, layering emerges not just as a necessity, but as a creative styling tool. Whether it’s denim-on-denim, argyle knits or a timeless trench, customers are encouraged to interpret winter dressing in ways that feel personal, cosy, bold or refined.
“This season, we continue to show up for our customers with fashion that feels considered, accessible and relevant to the way they live and dress,” says Bronwyn Pretorius, Chief Marketing Officer at Ackermans. “We are focused on delivering fashion that feels current, inclusive and easy to make their own, without compromising on value.”
Shaz Abass, Chief Executive of Product, adds: “By focusing on elevated essentials and thoughtful design, we’ve created pieces that can be styled in multiple ways, making it easier for customers to build outfits that feel comfortable, relevant and put together.”
A highlight of the evening was the introduction of Siyanda Bani, the brand’s A-List collaborator for the season. Known for her distinctive and effortless style, she brought a fresh perspective to winter dressing through a curated styling session, offering practical inspiration on how to mix textures, layer effectively and make everyday pieces feel unique.
Guests also took part in a meaningful CSI initiative, writing personalised notes to children from the TLC Children's Centre. On their behalf, Ackermans will provide winter warmer packages, including shoes, jackets and fleece babygrows, extending the brand’s commitment to value beyond fashion.
With a continued focus on accessibility, quality and style for every family, Ackermans’ AW26 showcase made one thing clear: this season, winter truly looks good on you.
