Drenched in Orange: A Look Inside Brutal Fruit Spritzer’s L’Orange Rossa Launch

Drenched in golden light and citrus tones, Brutal Fruit Spritzer’s L’Orange Rossa launch unfolded as more than an event, it was a visual and sensory celebration of The Rossa Life. Here’s a look inside an afternoon where flavour, fashion and self-expression collided in the most striking way.

Hosted by the ever-radiant Zola Nombona, Villa Rossa set the stage for a guest list that read like a who’s who of South Africa’s most influential tastemakers, including Ayanda G Thabethe, Buhle Samuels, Kayise Ngqula, Larona Moagi, Naledi Malela, Nqobile Khwezi, Thando Wolf, Yanda Woods and Malondie Buthelezi.

A Dress Code, Reimagined

The brief was “Citrus in-Capri”but interpretation was everything. From flowing silhouettes in burnt orange and soft apricot tones to bold, structured pieces punctuated with gold accents, guests leaned into the theme with individuality and flair. Some embraced understated elegance, while others delivered high-impact glamour, each look a unique expression of The Rossa Life.

Our favourite moments? Statement accessories paired with minimalist dresses, unexpected textures layered in tonal citrus hues, and playful nods to summer escapism that felt both effortless and intentional.

An Immersive Setting

From the meticulously styled tablescapes to the ambient glow of orange hues washing over Villa Rossa, every detail was curated to draw guests into the world of L’Orange Rossa. The atmosphere was one of ease and connection; glasses clinked, conversations flowed, and the experience invited guests to linger.

The Star of the Show

At the heart of it all was L’Orange Rossa itself, a refreshing fusion of zesty orange and crisp apple, softened by subtle sweetness and a delicate bitter edge. Bold yet balanced, it mirrors the dynamic spirit of the women it was created for.

Where Sound Meets Style

In one of the afternoon’s most memorable moments, the Gugulethu Tenors took to the floor alongside DJ Mvelo, blending classical vocals with contemporary beats. The result was electric; an unexpected harmony that echoed the sophistication and edge of L’Orange Rossa.

Fashion in Motion

The celebration of style extended beyond the guests. In collaboration with Malondié, the design house founded by Londeka Buthelezi, attendees were treated to a showcase of limited-edition pieces inspired by the drink’s vibrant identity. Think sculptural hats, refined handbags and statement scarves, each piece capturing modern African femininity through a bold, citrus-tinted lens.

“L’Orange Rossa marks a new chapter for Brutal Fruit Spritzer,” says Candice Van Den Bosch, Brand Director. “It’s expressive, distinctive, and designed for the way women gather today. This launch was a true reflection of that energy.”

Following its debut, Brutal Fruit Spritzer L’Orange Rossa will be available nationwide from March 2026, inviting South Africans to step into #TheRossaLife for themselves.

For those eager to experience more, a selection of the limited-edition Malondié pieces will be available through exclusive Villa Rossa activations nationwide, alongside curated competitions and surprise moments that bring the spirit of L’Orange Rossa to life.
