DJ Zinhle returns to her roots with self-titled EP ZINHLE, a celebration of African dance music

One of Africa's most celebrated DJs, producers and cultural trailblazers, DJ Zinhle, marks an exciting new chapter in her remarkable career with the release of her highly anticipated self-titled EP, ZINHLE. The eight-track Afro-house project is both a celebration of her musical journey and a confident statement of where she's headed next, reaffirming her place as one of the continent's most influential dance music pioneers.

Built around the vibrant, uplifting sound that first established DJ Zinhle as a household name, ZINHLE is a nostalgic return to the dancefloor while embracing a fresh creative energy. Across eight expertly crafted tracks, the EP blends infectious grooves, rich melodies and powerful collaborations, reminding listeners why DJ Zinhle has remained at the forefront of African dance music for nearly two decades.

"This project is deeply personal because it represents who I am at my core," says DJ Zinhle. The EP brings together an exciting lineup of collaborators including DJ Lace, DJ Cliad, Funk Tone, Thobani White, Msindo'Listo, Nayvee Womculo and Nia Pearl, each adding their own unique flavour while complementing DJ Zinhle's unmistakable production style.

Leading the project is the focus track, "Uthando", featuring Thobani White and Nayvee Womculo. Built on warm Afro-house rhythms, soaring melodies and heartfelt vocal performances, the song captures the emotional depth and irresistible groove that defines the EP. It is a record that celebrates connection, love and togetherness, wrapped in the timeless energy of African dance music.

The release follows the success of lead singles “Baba Yilwa”, and "Njengemali," which introduced audiences to the project's vibrant sonic direction ahead of the full EP release. Baba Yilwa has spent 11 weeks on the South African radio charts, garnering 11 million streams across streaming platforms. The official music video currently has 4.3 million views on YouTube.
